In Santa Barbara, we moseyed around in a most adorable surrey. It was a great way to take in the beautiful sights and be silly (we waved and rang our bell at every passing cyclist- we're that cool!)
We both had wheels, but only one controlled the surrey. We had to take turns on who was in charge, not because we both wanted to steer (although we both did) but because I had to be on the side with the least amount of sun... and I still got burned!
This is the gorgeous coastal path. Blue sky, palm trees, the Pacific Ocean and my Matty. It doesn't get too much better than that.
Except for if you ass this guy's awesome trailer. That made the day even better.
We took our surrey to the reserve/bird sanctuary (more on that, here). It rested in the shade while we did a little bird watching. Isn't it too cute?!
And then we saw a random giraffe.
And headed back to the beach to frolic in the sand.
Where I took in the view. Mmmmm mmmm, sexy view.
Then we peddled over to the harbor, where Matt wouldn't yield, even when signs instructed him to do so. And we sang the themes to Sesame Street and Three's Company for the enjoyment of all around us.
And then we brought our little surrey back to her home. It was sad to say goodbye, but we promised to go visit her again soon!
