My Table

I bought a huge antique table off of Craigslist. It measured 110 inches long with both leaves in, and it was very solid, but pretty scratched up.

I used a chemical stripper and scraped off the first layer of goo

and I sanded it (even thought this shows Matt sanding it- which he did a bit...)

after 3 'sandings' using finer and finer paper

then I stained it, twice, and coated it with polyurethane x 3...

And you know what? It's the heart of our new home! It was a great project and I loved seeing it in all the different stages. (I want to get a collection of awesome mismatched chairs to go with it). 

Can't wait to have a dinner party!!!
